Michelle Sarmiento, Biller
What is the essence of what you do?
For the past years, I have worked as the Billing and Collection Department Head for another company. In that position, I was responsible for everything about collections, doing research on how to manage my medical biller to have a clean claim. Now, as administrative assistant in Restore Plus Physical Therapy, I handle a variety of important everyday tasks, and play an important part in helping the business run smoothly. I oversee the front desk area, planning, organizing and focusing on the success of the organization.
What are some of your personal interests, outside of work?
Reading, playing games, shopping, cooking and spend time calling my 2 kids for an hour because there are miles away from me. And spending time with my online business like bags, shoes and some accessories.
What are things you believe in? It can be a favorite quote or words of wisdom, etc. – something that identifies you.
I may not be the most beautiful nor the sexiest, nor do I have the perfect body. I might not be someone’s first choice, but I am a great choice. I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not, because I’m proud of who I am today. I love being me!
What do you like most about caring for patients?
What I like most is they have taught me about individual uniqueness. I have had to look at each patient as unique. It is when I recognized this uniqueness that I was able to gain their trust, treat them with respect and watch them change their health for the better regardless of their race and gender.
What do you think patients like most about you?
It’s hard to explain, perhaps, I treat them as family and not as patients. And everytime they come in I have a big smile for them.
What do you think patients like most about your organization?
We have good staff, we provide good service, and we organize and provide for the patients’ need.
