Have you thought about your current situation right now and have you realized that you don’t like the way your current situation is? You’re not happy. You’re not healthy. Have you thought about that and is that something that you realize? If that is the case, then you’re not alone. That is why I want to share with you 3 habits for success.
I myself have been in that situation before. And actually, the reason why I thought about sharing this is because in our clinic, we actually have a policy that when we come in, we have to perform.
My staff and patients have asked me the same question. They ask me how I can come in and bring the energy in. How I can come in and perform on a daily basis from day-to-day, day in, day out. And I have to tell you, it has not been easy.
Everybody has things that happen in their life. But there are things that I learn along the way and these are the things that I want to share with you. It has helped me a lot. It has helped me become healthier physically, mentally, emotionally and has helped me elevate myself to the next level. To be in a position to achieve better success, not only at work, but even in my personal life. And these are habits that I started doing.
These are habits that I learned from some of the most successful entrepreneurs, most successful people in the world. Because the way I see it is if they have these habits. What separates them from everybody else? They’re human, and so what makes them more successful? So they have these habits that they started, that they do that I feel like help them get to that level.
Well, of course it’s not that if everybody do those habits, meaning everybody’s going to be a Steve Jobs or everybody’s going to be an Elon Musk. It’s not that, but these are things that when you start doing, I felt a big difference. I felt the benefit and that’s why I want to share them with you. Because I’ve been in situations like that before. Physically, I wasn’t healthy and mentally, emotionally was not and I realized, “You know what? I’m not happy with my current situation. I’m not happy with where I am and something has to change,” and these are the things that I started doing. In our social media and vlogs, I dove in a little deeper on each one of them.
But for today, I want to at least give you an idea of what these three quick things that you can actually do, add it to your day and it will help elevate you to the next level. Help you be healthier physically, mentally and emotionally. All right. So let’s jump right in. What are these three things, the three habits that I started doing that I want you… and I highly recommend you do also.
First is I start my day off in this way, because the way I start my day, it will dictate the rest of the day for me. There’s a certain way I like to start and end the day. To make time for these three habits, I had to adjust the time I wake up. And I’m going to be very transparent with you, I’m not the morning person. I’m not that type. I’m not the best person in the morning, I’ve always been an evening person, but because I really want to make that change, so I started waking up earlier in the morning.
I had to wake up earlier so I have time for these three things that I do in the morning and still be able to get my son ready for school and then make it in time for work and then meetings and other things. I had to wake up earlier. It’s not easy for everyone, it wasn’t easy for me, but it’s doable.
Like I said, I’m not the morning person, but if… The saying goes, “If the pain is severe enough, you’re going to do it. If you really want this enough, you’re going to do it.” All right. The first thing is I start my day, this is very, very important, I start my day with gratitude. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do, I know most people, even myself before, first thing that I used to do, get your cell phone, either check emails, go on social media, all those negativity, so I don’t do that. I don’t do that anymore.
So first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is I say gratitude, I express gratitude. I bring to mind three things that I’m grateful for. Can be that happened the day before, a few days before, it can be long time ago, but I bring to mind three things that I’m grateful for and then I appreciate those things. I express the gratitude.
Depending on your belief, you can express it to God, express it to the universe, but I bring that to mind. I actually do that at the end of the day also. I bring to mind what I’m grateful for, for that day. Now, if you cannot bring anything to mind, which this happens, I know because when we do team meetings, we start off with positive focuses. We share something that we’re grateful for with everybody else and the people who are new to that, it’s interesting because they have a hard time thinking of something that they’re grateful for. And even if we say do something grateful for, sometimes something negative still comes in, so that’s a mindset that we have to change.
So if you cannot bring to mind three things that you’re grateful for, then that’s one of the main problems that you have. That’s why you’re in your situation right now. Why you’re not happy. Why you’re not successful. That’s one of the main problems. Let’s fix that first. That’s something that you have to work on. Three things that you’re grateful for.
After that, I wash my face and brush my teeth, things like that, so the regular morning routine. After I say gratitude, the second thing I do is I work out. I work out early in the morning.
I used to work out late in the day because studies have shown that the best time to work out is I actually early evening because your body’s warmed up already. You don’t need to warm up a lot longer to be able to get the good workout, but I noticed that later in the day, things happen, work gets in the way, I tend to have a lot more excuses not to be able to do the workout. I’m too tired or too stressful, whatever, so I started doing this in the morning also because this is something that I learned from these very successful people, they work out in the morning.
So I started doing that and it doesn’t have to be very long. Depending on the program that you’re doing, it can be short 20, 30 minutes. I started doing that in the morning and then I felt a big difference.
I have to work out in the morning because it gets me awake, gets my blood flowing and there’s no reason why I cannot work out in the morning because there’s nothing else happening, nothing pushing it back, so it limits my excuse there. That’s the second thing I do is I work out in the morning.
The third is I take a cold shower. Now, if you listen to, I know my grandma or even my mom tells me that there is a belief, old belief that when you take a cold shower, you’re going to get sick. No, that’s not true. Science doesn’t prove that. Actually, virus, bacteria, things like that, they get you sick, not the cold shower. On the contrary, a cold shower actually boosts your immune system. That’s one of the benefits. We dive in deeper in my vlog. I will tell you more of those good benefits.
For me, the biggest impact is when I take a cold shower, it wakes me up and then it gets me ready mentally and physically also for the rest of the day. There’s nothing like the cold water hitting your head, hitting your face like, “Oh, wow.” It’s not easy, it’s not something I really look forward to because it’s really cold, especially winter time. It’s not easy, but it is very effective. It’s very helpful.
All right. Those are the three things that I want you to, if you can’t do all three, at least start with one. I would start with the gratitude first. Start with that one. But if you can do all three, that will be even better. I didn’t get all three together at the same time, I started with the gratitude first. For me now, I do journaling, so it’s a little bit longer. I started doing that, so you can do the same thing. At least try one.
